1. VISIT CARLOW'S VOLCANO
EVENT: Geological walk to explore Carlow's volcano. The Slaney Valley holds evidence of Carlow's long-extinct volcano which spewed extensive lavas onto an ancient seafloor. The forces driving the volcano also developed the later Leinster Granite. but did they control Carlow's once-serious earthquakes? Come and find out!

2. THE MINING HERITAGE OF THE COPPER COAST
EVENT: Guided tour of Tankardstown mining site to learn about the local history and the mining heritage of what was once one of the largest copper mines of the Bristish Empire.
