Leye-Fengshan Geopark

The Leye-Fengshan Geopark is located in northwestern Guangxi, southwest China. It is in the administrative regions of Leye county, Baise city and Fengshan county, Hechi city in Guangxi. It is situated on the transition zone extending from the Yunnan-Guizhou plateau to Guangxi basin. The Geopark has two complete large subterranean river drainage systems, including karst windows, underground chambers, paleontological sites and the largest tiankeng group in the world. It is a showcase for the evolution of typical and mature high fengcong karst, subtropical biodiversity and the unique customs of ethnic minorities in southwest China. The Geopark is of great value for tourism, science and geoscience in particular.

The Geopark has well-developed geological features, which can be grouped into seven categories: tiankengs, large subterranean rivers, karst caves, high fengcong karst and poljes, hydrological geosites, paleontological sites, and lithology and regional structure geosites.
