Mt.Sanqingshan is a worthy textbook on geomorphology, with major value of geomorphology and aeothetic value of landscape:
(Ⅰ)The granite landform within the geopark is a typical representative among the global granite mountainous peak forest geomorphologies. The landscape is truly stunning all the more of the high scientific and aesthetic values it holds, because of granite mountainous peak it holds, making Mt. Sanqingshan an outstanding natural museum and a worthy geomorphologic textbook. Meanwhile, it provides a natural laboratory for studying the controlling factors and evolutional processes of this kind of unique granite landscapes.
(Ⅱ) The geopark holds the evindece of almost continuous record of 1 billion years of geological evolution, including the evidences and important geological events as stratigraphy, peotrology and structural geology geomorphology as the amalgamation of the supercontinetal Rodinia.
(Ⅲ)There are preserved ancient biologic community and ecological landscapes spanning over 200Ma within the park，with outstanding biological and ecological values. There are 9 types of vegetation in the park. Identified so far in the park are 2,373 species of higher plant and 401 species of vertebrate. In addition, 45 species are listed in theIUCN Species Red List, 146 species are listed in CITES Appendix, 144 species of animal and plant are listed in the China Species Red List, and 79 species are designated as National Key Protection wild animals and plants in China. Among the interruptedly distributed plants beween East Asia and North America,China in total has 121 genera while Mount Sanqingshan possesses 68 genera, accounting for 56.2% of the genera of this kind in China. Well-preserved rare and endangered disjunct species include P.Gaussenii, Liriodendron chinense, Tsuga tchekiangensis Pseudotaxus Chienii, Taxus Muirei, Tragopan Caboti, Syrmaticus ellioti, Mutiacus crinifrons. In particular, P. gaussenii corresponding to P. Menziessi in North America and the Liriodendron chinense corresponding to L. tulipifera in North America are distributed here in tracts.

The looming, intricate rock formations intermixed with delicate forest cover and combined with ever-shifting weather patterns create a landscape of arresting beauty’.The famous Chinese poet, Qing Mu appraises her as “ Home for cloud and mist, an artistic corridor in pine and stone”, The chairman of the Foundation for National Parks, United States passionately appraised “ Mt. Sanqingshan is one of the very few elite landscapes in the world, a treasure for the whoe human race, the home for human soul”.

There are lots of old architectures and Taoism relics, including 230 vestiges, such as stone statues and stone carvings, etc. Mt.Sanqingshan has been named an “Open-air Taoism Museum”. The quintessence of Taoism culture ont only focuses on the cultural idea of “harmony of man with nature”, but also reflects the planning and designing concepts of ancient architectural system that its layout depends on natural and environmental conditions.
