Recently, two experts, professor Nikolaos Zouros and Henning Zellmer assigned by UNESCO, have completed the revalidation mission to Wudalianchi Global Geopark of China since their arriving on 16th July.

In a matter of days, they listened to the progress report, checked the relative documents and inspected Museum, Volcano and Earthquake Monitoring Station, Tourist Center, local community and some important geoheritages inside the Geopark. Focusing on discussion with geopark managers about the improvements in light of the eight recommendations given by GGN bureau and UNESCO in 2012, the two experts expressed their praise on the hard work carried out by the geopark in the past half and a year. They also encouraged Wudalianchi Global Geopark to host international conference on geoparks and improved communication with other members of GGN in future.

The revalidation of the membership of the Global Geoparks Network will be discussed by the GGN Bureau at the 6th International UNESCO Conference on Geoparks being held at the Stonehammer Global Geopark, Canada. By then, the delegation of Wudalianchi Global Geopark will attend the conference and give an oral presentation.
