An E- Classroom session was conducted for a group of junior high school students of Germany’s Bergstrasse-Odenwald Geopark on 4 June 2013. It took place in the Messel Pit World Heritage Site Visitor Centre, which is the north entrance gate of the Global Geopark Bergstraße-Odenwald. Here the students were able to “see” the magnificent acidic volcanic columns of Hong Kong Geopark, through real-time presentation by a staff at the High Island Geo Trail of Hong Kong Geopark on the other side. The Global E-Classroom session not only introduced Hong Kong Geopark to the students, but most importantly aroused their interest in geology and broadened their horizon.
