Longhu Mountain Geopark has affiliated the GGN (Global Geoparks Network) officially after a field expedition and a strict review by the experts who were commissioned by the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization). So far 54Geoparks in 17 Member States are currently members of the Global Geoparks Network assisted by UNESCO.

Longhu Mountain Geopark within Yingtan City and Shangrao City in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, China consists of three geopark zones, i.e. Longhu Mountain, Tortoise Peak and Elephant Mountain. It has been well known throughout the world for its Danxia fairylands, Taoist centers and clusters of ancient cliff graves, with the significant value in geology, geomorphology, humanities as well as aesthetics.

Diversified Danxia landforms are extensively distributed here, covering a complete geomorphologic sequence from youth-stage, mature-stage to old-stage landforms of which mature-stage one is predominant. The entire geopark looks like a natural picture scroll of clean water and red mountains, reflecting the typical Danxia geomorphology. Besides perfect natural and ecological environment and favorable locational conditions, the geopark is in possession of distinguishing cultural landscapes. Furthermore, it, as the cradle of Taoism and the center of Taoist activities, exhibits a combined long cultural history of Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism.
