Iran's ICHTO is slated to hold the International Conference on Geotourism and its Effects on Tourism Expansion in the Qeshm Free Zone.
The first day of the conference which will open in Tehran, will be dedicated to the collecting articles on the subject of Geotourism. The second day of the conference will be held at the Qeshm geopark.
UNESCO representatives and foreign guests will attend the event on December 31st, 2007 and January 1st, 2008.
The Qeshm Geopark which is located in the western part of the island, covering over 32,000 hectares, is significant for its geology, zoology, botany and archaeology.
