The Langkawi Development Authority will promote Langkawi Geopark as a major tourist attraction in Kedah during a promotional blitz in Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen from Sept 23 to Oct 3.
Its general manager, Datuk Kamarulzaman Abdul Ghani, said the Langkawi Geopark would feature prominently in the tourism promotional tour which is expected to be headed by Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.
“The event is aimed at attracting visitors to Kedah in conjunction with Visit Kedah 2008,” he told reporters yesterday.
Kamarulzaman said Lada would hold discussions with industry players and airlines in the countries involved with a view to increasing the number of visitors to Langkawi.
