Join us in Niigata, Japan to discuss the future of networking
in the East Asia Region
This July 27th and 28th, the Itoigawa UNESCO Global Geopark in Niigata Prefecture, Japan will be presenting an international forum on networking and Geoparks in the East Asian region. The forum, to be held at the Toki Messe Convention Center in Niigata City, is being presented in cooperation with Niigata Prefecture, Niigata University, and Sado and Naeba-Sanroku Geoparks, two Japanese Geoparks also located in Niigata Prefecture.
The forum is open to all interested in the Geopark model and its implementation and future in Eastern Asia. Special guests from throughout the region will come together to discuss the situations in their respective countries and how Geoparks and affiliated organizations can work together to create lasting and meaningful networks. The forum will include optional excursions to the three hosting Geoparks on the 29th.
Special keynote speakers include Dr. Patrick McKeever of the UNESCO International Geoscience Programme, Dr. Atsushi Matsuoka of Niigata University and Dr. Eugenia Bugdaeva of the Far East Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
